iPods

Of all the digital audio players available in the market today, the iPod proves to be the most portable and the best-selling brand. Since its introduction in 2001 by the Apple Computer Company, the iPod has undergone several advancements to date and has taken over its predecessors – the equally popular Walkman in the 1980s and the Discman in the 1990s.

The iPod is best distinguished by its unique design -- a slim, palm-sized media player with a central scroll wheel that now comes in various colors. This year 2006, the iPod family already boasts of its 5th generation edition that plays videos.  What’s also unique about this device is that it stores media such as music, videos and audio files through its internal hard drive in some models and through its flash memory in other units.
