Types of iPod
Apple Computer first came out with the iPod digital audio player in 2001. It has gained so much popularity because of its unique design and size which you can just slip in your pocket while listening to it. Since its introduction in the market, several models have already been released such as the iPod shuffle, iPod mini and iPod nano. All three can store media notably music. iPod Shuffle
The iPod shuffle, released in January 2005, is the smallest of them all weighing at half of an ounce and lesser than half the size of the original model. It’s so slim and comes with a built-in clip that you can just slip on your shirt collar, bag strap, waistband or your pant’s pocket. Since it’s small, you can operate it with just one hand. Storing music (maximum of 240 songs) in this device is done through its USB dock after which you can enjoy listening to your favorite tunes without the skips for up to 12 hours straight. The shuffle, though, has no display screen but it has LEDs (lights) to reassure you that it’s working well. A green light is seen while you’re listening while an amber light is on when the iPod is attached to your computer. It’s user-friendly as well with only five buttons to push to operate it. iPod Nano The iPod nano is the more improved version although bigger than the shuffle. But it still has a thin design and just palm-sized. The other major differences from the shuffle are its colored display, the colors of the unit itself and a longer battery life meaning up to 24 hours of listening pleasure. You can even load up to 2,000 songs in this gadget and listen to them skip-free, thanks to its anodized aluminum make. And not only can it store music as it can also play audiobooks and podcasts from iTunes. Not only that, because this device can likewise store 25,000 snapshots. Operating the iPod nano is easy with only five buttons to push. The nano comes in three models depending on the storage capacity – 2 GB, 4GB and 8GB – and in five vibrant colors – black, pink, blue, green and silver. This model replaced the iPod mini which was released in February 2004. However, with the release of the nano, the mini was discontinued after only more than 18 months in the market.
